#TrueBadass Wanted: Do You Have What It Takes To Work With Keenan?

Do YOU have what it takes to join the A Sales Guy team? Do you have the intellect, the grit, and the relentless accountability to play an integral part of a small organization? Would @keenan hire you? If you want to blend in with the herd, if you don’t have that fire to be your best, if not the best, if you’ve ever been a clock puncher – let me do y’all a favor now and let’s part ways here. @keenan would eat you alive. You may remember that our A Sales Guy Recruiting division was recently in the market for some new team members, new badasses, if you will. We are STILL looking for a Badass Sales Recruiter to complete us (until we expand again). So far, no luck, but a few good stories (you’ve got to check out Keenan’s latest post, What Not To Do When You Screw Up, for one of the wildest). Today, rather than focus on what not to do, let me give you a little insight into what will get you on Keenan’s short list and then we’ll wrap up with the unveiling of our newest A$Ger! Critical Thinker You may be hired on as a recruiter, but like all sales positions, the top guns view their role as a CEO of one. Gain an understanding of what the role requires and come to the table with an idea of how you’d run your business. Bring a repeatable process and best practices that you can implement right off the bat. Can you identify any problems that the business or industry is currently facing? Bring solutions to the interview. Keenan will hire the Badass Recruiter that can speak to the critical analysis that’s crucial to the role itself. Here’s a quote from an article he wrote back in 2010, which nails it on the head:

Problem solving requires the ability to take in lots of information, massage it, assess it, filter it, and craft perspectives, understandings, hypotheses, and assumptions.  Great salespeople must be able to [identify the needs and motives of each client and candidate], identify unseen opportunities, avoid pitfalls, and more.

Are you a critical thinker? Creativity Equally important is your ability to think and execute creatively. Do you think outside the box? If passive candidates aren’t responsive to LinkedIn InMails or your email touches, what new ways can you reach out to make a bigger impact? What unique ideas can you come up with to buff up our referral program? Creativity is the game changer, the differentiator when it comes to better execution and setting yourself apart from your competitors. Ruthless Accountability Here at A Sales Guy, our motto is “100% flexibility, ruthless accountability”. People love the flexibility but struggle with accountability. It’s sad, but it’s true that finding people who OWN their responsibilities and especially their mistakes is a near impossibility…a diamond in the rough. It should come as no surprise in a society, where ADD is rampant, commitment is the new C Word, and the ongoing quest for the “easy button”. That won’t fly at A Sales Guy. We’re a team of 7. There’s a lot of transparency. Each role is vital to the success of the company. Exponential growth is dependent upon your ideas and your ability to execute. And Now For the Good News The status quo for each of these 3 crucial traits is abysmal. If you’re a critical thinker, a creative executioner, with unrelenting accountability, advantage you…in life. I think there are a lot of people right there on the edge, with the desire and drive to be the best at what they do. If you don’t shy from commitment to a cause and a firm you believe in and you desire a coach, someone to push you to excellence – YOU BELONG AT A SALES GUY and Keenan’s your man. If you don’t live in Denver or have no interest in recruiting, we exclusively work with like-minded sales companies, looking to expand their sales force. Last month, we were lucky enough to find one of those diamonds in the rough. We were looking for a young, hungry junior recruiter, who would learn the process, embrace the culture, and move on to bigger and badder things on our team. As promised, I am happy to announce our newest bad mama JAMA, the peas to our carrots, the mac to our cheese, the pop to our tart. Drum roll, please… allow me to introduce, Nurta Sufi – kickass sourcer by day and freelance photographer by night! Would ya just look at her! Nurta

Here’s a little about Nurta!
